This skill has been developed and translated into the incredibly intricate and beautiful linocuts, etchings and sculptures created by the artist since the commencement of his art practice in 1989. 2010: Winner Works on Paper, 27th Telstra Indigenous Art Award.
Alick Tipoti
Alick Tipoti is one of the most innovative artists to have emerged from the Torres Strait Islands' contemporary print-making movement.
Carmen Hogue Dolls
Carmen Hogue is an Australian artist who works in diverse media including drawing, painting and sculpture. Since she moved to the far north coast of New South Wales in 2003 she has been influenced by the bushland and north coast sub-cultures. Her fabric animal dolls each have a unique personality. There are two ranges available; Lounge Rogues and Animal Kingdom. Carmen uses retro fabrics, leather, lace, buttons and beads among other things, which gives them a funky, hippie or old world character. Each doll has a personality and a contemporary identity that reflects the colourful cultures of the Northern New South Wales region.
Joanna Reid
Decorative, bold, colourful, sometimes kitsch and very original acrylic works on canvas celebrating Australian and exotic flora.
Carmen Hogue - Baskets
These nest-like baskets are made from found objects like wire mesh, hemp string, twine, leather, feathers and beads. They are created as an ensemble with a theme such as sandstone, desert or lorikeets. The simple but versatile shape of the nest/basket is ideal for combining colours, textures and forms.
